We welcome HMRC’s decision to move to a Personal Representative led, reflecting many of our core recommendations to the Technical Consultation.
We believe this new framework will be more efficient for pension administrators to operate and, crucially, deliver better outcomes for beneficiaries at a difficult time.
There remain a few areas where clarity will be essential—most notably the practical mechanics by which beneficiaries will instruct PSAs to settle Inheritance Tax on their behalf.
We look forward to engaging with HMRC to ensure a smooth implementation by April 2027.
