Alan Clay, Head of Strategy for Customer Data Solutions at LexisNexis Risk Solutions, is a specialist in the use of data across the customer lifecycle.  Alan has wide experience of implementing systems including data capture and verification at the point of registration / authentication, through combining data sources across different systems to create a single customer view, to tracing customers with whom organisations have lost contact.  Clearly the on-going management of identity data is key, but enrichment through the use of 3rd party data to enhance 1st party data supports both data currency and improved decision making. This said, it is important to recognise the roles and limitations of 1st party and 3rd party data in creating the optimal data ecosystem.
