PASA De-risking Journey Management

De-risking Journey Management Working Group (DJMWG)

About

For many, managing a defined benefit scheme is about legacy risk management.  With many pension scheme funding positions improving, schemes are increasingly focused on endgame planning, whether this is self-sufficiency (including longevity insurance), consolidation (mastertrust or superfund) or buy-in/buyout.  Regardless of the final destination, many of the challenges faced by pension schemes approaching the market and post-transaction trustee considerations are similar.

The purpose of the DJMWG  is to develop and deliver PASA’s position on the following focus areas:

  • Endgame planning
  • Provision of data (e.g. experience data, marital data, GMP)/data standards
  • Provision of quotes/quote standards
  • Benefit conversion including GMP equalisation/conversion
  • At-retirement/member option exercises
  • Post-transaction membership reporting
  • Third party administration and customer experience
  • Reinsurance requirements
