SUMMARY:PASA Edinburgh 2025: The Whole of the Moon
DESCRIPTION:Welcome\nPensions administration is often experienced in fragments. A governance update here\, a data challenge there\, a regulatory shift in the distance. ‘The Whole of the Moon’ brings those pieces together. \nWe begin with the Regulator’s perspective on the pressures shaping our environment\, before turning to a uniquely Scottish lens on pensions and a discussion on reframing administration as a strategic driver. The afternoon takes us deeper into the General Code and the realities of dashboard delivery\, before closing with a relaxed networking reception. It’s a programme designed to give you both the detailed insight and the panoramic view – the “whole of the moon.” \n

SUMMARY:PASA President\, Kim Gubler speaking at the Financial Advice Forum 2025
DESCRIPTION:Kim will be on the panel to discuss: Advice under review – what the next five years of regulation could bring \nThe FCA’s new five-year strategy sets the long-term direction of travel for advice firms\, with potential changes to disclosure rules\, retail participation\, and supervisory focus. As the regulator moves from implementation to enforcement under Consumer Duty\, scrutiny is intensifying around closed-book products\, charging models\, and outcome monitoring. Meanwhile\, the final Advice Guidance Boundary Review is expected to clarify what forms of support can be offered outside regulated advice.\nWhat will the final Advice Guidance Boundary Review mean for client segmentation\, service delivery\, and unregulated support?\nHow should advisers interpret the FCA’s 2025-2030 strategy\, including proposals to simplify disclosures and encourage retail risk-taking?\nCould the Autumn budget bring further tax rises\, and how should advisers help clients prepare for a changing fiscal environment? \nCPD Learning Objectives:\nAt the end of this 40-minute session\, you should be able to: \nDescribe the implications of the Advice Guidance Boundary Review for advice delivery and the distinction between regulated and unregulated services.\nExplain how the FCA’s long-term regulatory strategy could affect advice firms’ disclosure obligations\, investment propositions and consumer communications.\nAssess the potential impact of future tax policy changes and outline strategies for helping clients plan amid a changing fiscal environment.

SUMMARY:PASA Annual Conference
DESCRIPTION:If ever there was a time for pensions administration ‘The time is now’. There are a mountain of changes in store for 2024. Even without a general election which could result in a change of government\, we’ve got new policy initiatives to implement with huge impacts on administration. This really is our chance to shine and demonstrate administration really is at the heart of pensions. \nTPR’s blog from Cliodhna Judge in September 2023 told us how topics such as dashboards\, VFM\, covid and cyber leaks have put the importance of good administration at the forefront of the Regulator’s mind and described how they intend to use ‘a successful supervision approach to establish open\, two-way relationships’ with administrators to ‘understand the challenges and tackle the risks’. \nIn the same month\, Mary Stark’s Independent Review of TPR\, recommended TPR and DWP work together to understand the benefits of extending TPR’s regulatory remit to cover pensions administrators. Regardless of where you stand on this subject\, never before has administration been so deliberated and considered! \n2024 really does look to be a pivotal year for administration. Our speakers will debate all of the above topics and more throughout the day’s sessions\, and we hope you’ll join us in person to add your thoughts – either by asking questions to our speakers or by discussing your thoughts with other delegates in the PASA community. We hope to see you there for a lively and welcoming day of discussions!

SUMMARY:Private & Public Pensions Summit
DESCRIPTION:PASA Chair\, Kim Gubler\, will be speaking at the Private & Public Pensions Summit at Pennyhill Park. Check out her session and ask her lots of questions if you’re there! \nWhy good administration is at the cornerstone of a great pension system\, delivering a great experience and protecting people from scams.\nAdministration is often seen as the poor relation to investment when it comes to delivering great member outcomes. But it is the administration side of things\, not the trustee or the investment manager\, that is the interface between the scheme and the customer. Getting this right is important in delivering great customer outcomes\, getting this wrong creates member dissatisfaction and plays into the hands of scammers.

SUMMARY:Admin and Data Forum - Keynote by PASA Chair\, Kim Gubler
DESCRIPTION: \nAdmin and Data Forum | Wednesday 15 March | London\nRegister now! \nKim Gubler\, Chair of The Pensions Administration Standards Association (PASA) will present the opening keynote session at the Professional Pensions Admin & Data Forum on 15 March in central London. Delegate places at the conference are free for trustees and in-house pension and benefit scheme representatives. As your scheme changes\, your administrators must be informed to see if they have the recourse space. Yet this is not always the case. So where does admin stand in the “pension scheme food chain”? \nAdmin has been on the agenda seriously for roughly the last fifteen years\, only to be pushed aside by many. With GMP equalisation\, dashboards\, Endgame in sight for many and a recruitment shortage\, schemes can’t afford to push admin to the side any longer.
