Richard Smith

Richard has worked in pensions for 35 years and has worked for pension schemes (The AA, National Grid), providers (Prudential, Nest) and administrators (Aon, Capita).  During his 11 years consulting with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Richard was seconded to DWP to draw up the original implementation plans for automatic enrolment and to co-lead the creation the Nest schemes rules.

In 2018, Richard led the pensions data project at the Pensions Policy Institute, before moving to the MaPS Pensions Dashboards Programme (PDP) to develop the initial data standards in 2020.

Currently, as well as being a member of the PASA Pensions Dashboards Working Group he is also part-time Pensions Dashboards Consultant at the PLSA, helping PLSA member schemes prepare for dashboards.

His independent dashboards blog (DashboardIdeas.co.uk) is a seven year repository of everything published about dashboards since the idea was first proposed in July 2014 (or actually, December 2002).
